Centennial baseball star Mogen makes case as state's best

Senior bats .500, wins 6 as ace pitcher

Centennial coach Jon Williams is perhaps the least surprised person to see senior Cristian Mogen become on of Arizona's best players in the last two seasons.

Williams has coached Mogen, the Coyotes' other senior star Kevin Ramos and his son, Jacob, since the boys were 8. Even then Mogen showed a level of determination and dedication that stood out.

Mogen was the catcher for Williams' youth team at age 8 and 9. Current Tolleson player Tito Castillo was the team's shortstop.
