A show celebrating diverse music and dance is coming to downtown Phoenix.

One World Dance & Music, a dance studio in Phoenix, will present a show titled “Global Grooves” at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12 at the Phoenix Center for the Arts’ Third St. Theater, 1202 N. 3rd St., Phoenix.

This year is the third year for “Global Grooves,” which includes music from the pulsating drums of Africa to the vibrant folk dances of Mexico, to the rhythms and melodies of the Middle East.

The afternoon lineup includes a roster of artists, including:

• Sharqia Dance Theater: The Valley’s Middle Eastern dance company, sharing both traditional and modern re-imaginings of Arabic music and dance.
• Reconnect to Africa: This group brings the high-energy of traditional Congolese music and dance to the stage.
• Tradiciones Dance Company : This dance company performs a wide variety of Mexican folkloric dances from regions across the country
• Layali al Sham Middle Eastern Ensemble: Members from Arizona’s only Arab orchestra will share live classical Arabic music.

“Music and movement have the power to connect us all, and this show is a way for us to share and appreciate each other’s beautiful cultures,” Mahin Sciacca, owner of One World Dance & Music and artistic director of Sharqia Dance Theater, shared in a press release. “We invite everyone to come and experience this unique celebration of international arts.”

Advance tickets are $25 for adults and $12 for children and are available at https://oneworlddanceandmusic.com/global-grooves/.
