The Town of Cave Creek officials announced Stage 1 Fire Restrictions will be in effect until October 1, 2025, due to the high risk of wildfires.
"With the hot, dry summer upon us," stated Bo Larsen, Director of Communications and Public Affairs in a press release. "The Town has raised its Fire Danger Level to 'Very High' and is implementing the following Stage 1 Fire Restrictions:
- Smoking outside near combustible ground cover, in vehicles, outside residential yards, or beyond designated smoking areas is prohibited.
- Spark-generating activities, such as welding, grinding, brazing, and cutting steel, are not allowed outside of an enclosed building unless a permit is obtained from the Town of Cave Creek.
- On Red Flag Warning days issued by the National Weather Service, all spark-generating activities are strictly prohibited.
- The use of ignition-driven model rockets is not permitted.
- Flame-based weed removal is also prohibited.
- All cooking, warming, or campfires must have a responsible party within sight of the flame. Someone must always attend to the fire until it is fully extinguished, and the coals are cool to the touch."
Town officials encourage residents to follow its website and social media pages for updates and information regarding fire danger. Visit www.cavecreekaz.gov .
