The Cave Creek Town Council by a 7-0 vote on Oct. 21 approved the first reading of having updated building codes in the Town’s charter agreement.
“What we’re talking about is currently we have adopted the international code council’s 2021 version of the building codes,” Cave Creek Chief Building Official Adam Hicks said in his presentation to the council. “We with several other local jurisdictions are looking to go to the 2024 code just to stay up to date and up to speed.”
“I have had numerous discussions with my counterparts throughout the Valley and the state as a whole and the overall consensus is that most jurisdictions will be going to the 2024 code if they haven’t,” Hicks added.
