Catholic Charities receives $25K from Diocese of Phoenix campaign

Posted

Catholic Charities Community Services, which serves the most vulnerable with critical social services in 7 counties throughout central and northern Arizona, received a $250,000 disbursement from the Together Let Us Go Forth – Juntos Sigamos Adelante campaign, a $100-million campaign by The Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix that raised funds to support parishes and ministries within the Diocese.

The eight-year campaign has thus far resulted in more than 19,000 pledges and $110 million in pledge commitments to provide direct support to each parish with quarterly distributions.

Leaders in each parish determined how the funding would be used.

“These critical dollars will be put to good use in the communities we serve and benefit the men, women, children and families who look to Catholic Charities Community Services for vital support and resources,” said the agency’s President and CEO Paul Mulligan in a statement. “On their behalf, we are deeply grateful.”

“Each parish in the Diocese is its own family and is part of the extended family that is the Diocese,” said Cande de Leon, executive director of the Diocese’s Office of Mission Advancement.

“Catholic Charities does tremendous work and we are gratified by the support we received during the campaign to be able to make this disbursement.”

This is the second gift totaling $750,000 from the campaign to Catholic Charities.

Catholic Charities Community Services was founded in 1933 and provides care for the vulnerable of all faiths in Central and Northern Arizona through programs in foster care, early education, affordable housing, veteran services, refugee resettlement and homeless outreach.
