Case closed, no suspects in Glendale’s buried ballots

Remember when 18 ballots were found buried just days before the General Election?

While Arizona ballots from last year’s general election continue to gain attention in Maricopa County, one bizarre case involving 18 ballots in Glendale appears to be over.

The Arizona Attorney’s Office reported on the day of the election this past November that on Oct. 30 a stack of 18 unopened mail-in ballots hidden under a rock off 99th and Glendale avenues in west Glendale were found buried.

At the time, a construction worker, Brayan Ruiz, found the stash during road work and contacted Glendale police. Officers eventually hand-delivered the ballots to the residents whose names were on the mailing addresses.
