An existing carport may encroach into the side setback within the single-residence zoning district west of Stapley Drive and north of Brown Road, the Mesa Board of Adjustment decided recently.
The board on Oct. 5 voted 4-0 to approve a variance as part of a consent agenda with other items. Board members Adam Gunderson, Chris Jones and Heath Reed were absent.
The property has an existing carport within the required 5-foot setback, Staff Planner Samantha Brannagan said at a study session prior to the meeting.
