Carl Felt, 85Carl Felt of Surprise passed Aug. 28, 2007, at the Hospice of Arizona, Surprise, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Mr. Felt was born Dec. 23, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of Rebecca and Louis M. Felt. His wife of 47 years, Hazel B. Felt, preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Norristown High School, Norristown, Pa., and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Felt distinguished himself during World War II. He served with the Third Army"s Infantry Division, retiring as a captain. He was presented with five battle stars and a Presidential Citation. Mr. and Mrs. Felt resided in Kansas City, Mo., before moving to Arizona. He was a great swimmer and astonished many friends and neighbors in Sun City Grand with repeatedly swimming laps of the most difficult butterfly stroke almost to the end of his 85th year. Mr. Felt was a member of the Church of the Red Rocks, UCC, of Sedona. He was a mason and a shriner.Mr. Felt was preceded in death by his brother, Stanton W. Felt, Esq., of Albuquerque, N.M. He is survived by his sister, Anita F. Miller, Warminster, Pa.; and his niece and nephew Marylouise Stephens, Argyle, Texas; and Craig Douglas Miller, Schwenksville, Pa. Funeral arrangments were made The Neptune Society in Arizona. Arrangements for a military interment ceremony will be announced.
