The Phoenix Fire Department will conduct a career day next month for those who are interested in becoming firefighters.

The session will be from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Phoenix Fire Regional Training Academy and include a guided tour of the academy grounds, the command training center and in-depth conversations of opportunities within the department, according to the city.

Members from different divisions will  describe day-to-day duties, experiences and answer questions. Representatives from different  groups will help those interested in learning more about the hiring process and steps "to help them be successful," officials stated in a release.

Career day will include demonstrations from the Phoenix Fire Department's membership, including operations, emergency medical services, technical rescue teams and the drone-1 program.

 Space is limited, and registration required.

The Phoenix Fire Department will conduct a written test on Tuesday, Sept. 13 for the next hiring process.
