Weiers to undergo emergency bypass surgery Feb. 4

Doctors expect Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers to make a full recovery after he undergoes emergency bypass heart surgery on Thursday, Feb. 4.

Mr. Weiers, 63, was admitted to a local hospital on Monday. The city announced the news Feb. 3.

“I appreciate all of the heartfelt messages from everyone offering their thoughts and prayers and for their willingness to assist Sandy and I during this time,” Mayor Weiers said in a released statement. “I have witnessed firsthand the conditions our health care workers are working in due to the pandemic, and I can’t thank them enough for their dedication and commitment to our communities.”
