Finalists to be the next Phoenix police chief will be interviewed in a public forum on Wednesday, March 19.
The city has not released the list of finalist candidates to replace Interim Police Chief Michael Sullivan. An announcement is expected soon, likely Friday, according to Phoenix Communications Office Director Dan Wilson. The city will publish both names and biographies for each finalist.
The city plans to hire a candidate sometime in April, according to a news release. The hire will be determined by a city council vote. Sullivan’s contract expires at the end of August. The city has not stated whether he is a candidate to stay on in the roll permanently.
