A Plein Air painting competition will take place in conjunction with the upcoming Glendale Folk & Heritage Festival.

Plein Air refers to paintings done outdoors, and artists can paint anywhere within the Glendale city limits.

The event takes place Saturday, March 4 at the Sahuaro Ranch Historic Area, 9802 N. 59th Ave. Registration will be between 8 and 10:30 a.m. that Saturday, with submissions due by 3 p.m.

Check-in and judging will take place at the festival site.

The event is open to Plein Air artists ages 18 and older, who paint using the Plein Air technique in oil, watercolor, acrylic or pastel.

The Glendale Folk & Heritage Festival is produced by the city of Glendale’s Special Events team and is supported by the Glendale Main Library and the Glendale Public Arts Program.
