Cafe Zupas celebrates another Surprise location

Café Zupas has opened its second location in Surprise — this one in the City Center.

The restaurant held a grand opening Jan. 9 at its location at 16900 N. 144th Ave. in the new Elm Street development that is springing up in the City Center.

New Mayor Kevin Sartor participated in his first busines ribbon cutting, along with Cafe Zupas ownership partner Tantine Hinshaw and Direct Manager for Arizona Chris Carson.

For its grand opening, the first 100 guests in-store or in the drive-thru received one month of free Café Zupas, which equalled five free meals, and a tote bag. Those winners will also be entered to win free Café Zupas for a year.

Cafe Zupas has another Surprise location at 13200 N. Prasada Parkway in the Village at Prasada shopping center. The new Surprise spot is the 13th in Arizona. The restaurant also has 79 total locations across Idaho, Illinois, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Utah and Wisconsin.

It began in 2004 in Provo, Utah, its website said, “to provide a genuinely fresh and healthy alternative to the fast casual space.”

The restaurant uses daily-fresh-delivered produce and offers protein bowls that contain nearly 40 grams of protein.

Every dressing for each bowl and salad is made fresh by team members every day.
