Four weeks in, and it’s getting hard to tell when (or if) the Cactus Cobras are actually struggling.
The Cobras ran a track meet on the road in nearby Peoria on Friday night, throttling the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs 50-7. Not only were the 50 points a season low for the 4-0 Cobras, the team seemed to “bounce back,” according to junior running back Damian Jiles, who rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns, after last week’s apparently underwhelming 56-13 win over Prescott Valley Bradshaw Mountain.
“Last week we didn’t do that good,” Jiles said of the win over Bradshaw. “We were really focused this week. We were just on it this week.”
