As the Cactus Cobras and Peoria Panthers met for the 39th edition of their storied rivalry, the Panthers entered with momentum, and the hope to start 4-1 for the first time since 2019.
That hope would quickly fade away for the home crowd Friday, as the Panthers were stopped on the first drive of the game just past midfield. Cactus then scored its first touchdown on a fourth down trick play and took command.
Cactus (3-2) led 14-0 after a quarter and 27-0 at the half. From there, the Cobras cruised to a 41-7 win - their sixth straight in the rivalry.
