Cactus artwork to become new Surprise landmark

Council approves signature art piece in City Center

Art will soon “bloom” tall on Bullard Avenue.

“Bloom Where You’re Planted,” an 18-foot tall, mirror-polished steel saguaro cactus, will soon become a signature piece of the Surprise landscape when it is finished late next year somewhere on the edge of the City Center and near Surprise Stadium.

The Surprise City Council approved the project at the Oct. 19 meeting. It’s expected to be completed by December 2022.
