ArchWell Health, a national company providing value-based care services to Medicare-eligible seniors, has been selected by Modern Healthcare as one of the 2023 best places to work in health care.

ArchWell Health’s 10 locations — including one in Apache Junction and three in Mesa — and the company’s associated medical group in the Valley employ nearly 100 people as medical assistants, community relations specialists, doctors, nurse practitioners and more, according to a release.

The complete list of this year’s winners, in alphabetical order, is available at ModernHealthcare.com/bestplaceslist.

“We understand health care isn’t just about visiting the doctor; it’s about establishing ongoing, long-term relationships among our care teams, senior members and their families here in Phoenix,”said Angie Mercer, market operations director for ArchWell Health, said in the release. “Finding the best health care professionals is competitive and incredibly important to our mission of providing seniors accessible and personalized care. Creating a culture built on respect among our members and colleagues is a deliberate strategy for attracting and retaining quality talent. We’re honored to be recognized as a ‘2023 best places to work by modern health care’.”

The program identifies and recognizes outstanding employers in the health care industry nationwide. Modern Healthcare partners with Workforce Research Group on the assessment process, which includes an extensive employee survey.

“An uncertain economy, staffing shortages and increasing demands for flexibility and remote work opportunities are forcing every business in the industry to focus on attracting and retaining talent in unprecedented ways,” Dan Peres, president of Modern Healthcare, said in the release. “The 2023 Best Places to Work winners proved the value of understanding what employees want — and need — today. The healthcare industry is going through a period of extraordinary change. Having the right people in place is more critical than ever, and the winning workplaces understand that taking care of employees is central to business success.”

ArchWell Health’s centers are equipped with physicians and care teams specifically trained to support seniors on their wellness journey. The business offers same-day appointments where the patient-to-doctor ratio is well below the national average, the release states.

Each member is assigned a primary care provider who coordinates a team of ArchWell Health colleagues to provide a personalized approach. Additionally, to help seniors avoid isolation and maintain an active mind and body, each center hosts a social space with weekly events in a bright, welcoming environment that fosters friendships and connections. These activities include programs that educate members about healthy lifestyle choices and wellness.
