Having a home, vehicle or business burglarized can be a feeling of being violated, and it is something Sun Cities residents and business owners continue to experience.
Every week there are numerous burglaries in the Sun Cities, either at homes or from vehicles. In addition, some businesses fall victim to the burglars. In 2020, there were 68 calls to Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office about burglaries in Sun City that resulted in incident reports. In addition, there were 56 burglary at residence reports and 46 for burglary from a vehicle. In Sun City West last year there were 22 burglary reports and 15 for burglary from a vehicle. Those numbers varied, up and down, from the previous year.
However, burglaries are significantly down from two years ago. In 2018, Sun City had 75 reports for burglaries from vehicles and 82 burglaries. In Sun City West burglaries were 20 and burglary from vehicles was 33.
