Burglar enters Peoria home using dog door
Posted
By Chris Caraveo
Police believe someone used a dog door to burglarize a home in Peoria over the weekend, according to a report.
On Feb. 26, between 4:15 p.m. and 8 p.m., an unknown number of suspects entered a residence in the 8800 block of West Michelle Drive in Peoria.
According to police, the suspect(s) removed property totaling about $840. It appears the suspect(s) gained entry and exit to the house with a dog door located at the rear of the house.
There is no suspect information.
This incident is not the first time suspects used a dog door to enter and steal from a Peoria home. On Dec. 8, 2016, a man and woman used the same method to enter the back of a residence near 74th Avenue and Cactus Road. The man gave the home’s dog some kind of food as a distraction.
The suspects then fled with multiple computers and various electronic items, and an air soft rifle. The suspects left the dog outside the home.
