Phoenix-area builders struggle to secure cement

The Valley’s building boom has seen it’s share of shortages, and the latest one may be cement.

Cement prices have risen amid high demand as projects from homes to the massive construction of a semiconductor facility scramble to land batches and Valley contractors are having to navigate uncharted waters.

Rick Menefee, owner of Valley-based RDM Concrete Placement Inc., said he has seen concrete prices jump 75% for his company since March 2020.
