The Arizona Builders Alliance has launched its 2025 Backpack Drive, which aims to raise $50,000 by June 30 to provide school supplies to children throughout Arizona.
With partnerships that includes Children First Leadership Academy, RISE Services, and Arizona Baptist Children’s Services, the ABA’s Community Service Board will use donations to purchase backpacks, notebooks, pencils, folders, erasers, and paper.
Those supplies will be delivered during special events on July 16 and Aug. 4, ABA stated in a press release.
Last year’s drive raised $46,000 and bought supplies for more than 800 children, according to ABA President Kim Davids.
“Our goal this year is to boost donations past $50,000 so we can increase our giving efforts, ensuring children have the resources they need to succeed,” Davids said in a press release.
The ABA selected recipients in Phoenix and Tucson based on need.
- Children First Leadership Academy in Phoenix educates students from economically challenged families, with 100% of students living at or below the poverty line.
- RISE Services in Mesa specializes in foster care, supporting children who have faced abuse and neglect.
- Arizona Baptist Children’s Services in Tucson assists at-risk families, providing backpacks and supplies to children transitioning to new homes and schools.
