Budget exceeds $485M for Scottsdale Unified

SUSD 2023-24 budget hearing set for June 20

While the state school funding equation is shifting quite a bit, the net result is a slight increase in money for Scottsdale Unified School District’s 2023-24 budget, according to district chief financial officer Shannon Crosier.

The Scottsdale Unified School District governing board received a presentation on the proposed fiscal year 2023-24 expenditure budget on June 6 before voting 5-0 to approve it.

District staff are proposing a budget for next year that comes in at roughly $485.6 million. That includes a maintenance and operations portion of approximately $192.3 million. That is about $8.4 million more than the current maintenance and operations budget. Approximately $5.5 million of that is one time money given by the state with no strings attached on how to use it.
