Budding veterinarians get real world experience through contest in Peoria

North Peoria veterinary clinic hosted essay contest

Budding young veterinary students descended on the Vistancia Animal Hospital May 26 in north Peoria to get hands-on experience in the field as part of the “Why I Want to Be a Veterinarian” essay contest.

The event was a partnership with the Compassion Pet Hospital and West-MEC that allowed students to work on veterinary case studies with help from professionals within the field.

West-MEC, or Western Maricopa Education Center, is a public career and technical education school district with locations throughout the Valley.
