Buckeye to host annual Earth Day Cleanup
Posted
Independent Newsmedia
The Buckeye Main Street Coalition will host the downtown’s annual Earth Day event 8-11 a.m. April 22.
In its fourth year, Buckeye Main Street’s Earth Day event continues to encourage community spirit with the goal of cleaning up Monroe Avenue.
Last year, Buckeye residents collected more than 1,000 pounds of debris from Buckeye’s main street.
For Earth Day 2023, BMSC has teamed with the city of Buckeye’s Public Works Department to offer free paper shredding for Buckeye residents with a current Solid Waste account.
There is a limit of two banker boxes per customer until the truck is full. Paper shredding will be available in the City Hall parking from 8 to 11 a.m.
Cleanup participants are encouraged to gather at Benbow Park, 413 E. Monroe Ave., at 7:30 a.m. where garbage bags and gloves will be provided. Cleanup will conclude at 10 a.m. Goody bags and prizes will be given out after the cleanup. All ages are welcome to participate.
