Buckeye teen honored for heroic actions in medical emergency

Morgan Bosley had just received critical training on West-MEC campus

A teenage medical student from Buckeye learned in a hurry how classroom lessons can become the real thing.

Morgan Bosley, a 17-year-old student from Verrado High School who’s also in her second year in the Western Maricopa Education Center’s (West-MEC) Dental Assisting Program, recently received recognition from the Army National Guard for heroic actions. She, along with a group of friends, came to the urgent aid of a fellow friend who had become seriously injured while cliff jumping into water.

Shortly before the group’s summer trip to go Salt River tubing, Bosley had attended “Stop The Bleed” training under Dental Assisting Instructor Dorothy Tarango, who had scheduled the first-aid training for her students with the National Guard.
