Buckeye police unveils pink patches, proceeds to breast cancer research

Special to Independent Newsmedia
The Buckeye Police Department Pink Patch Project to support breast cancer awareness has kicked off early.
The online store for pink patch gear is live and accepting orders at buckeyeaz.gov/pinkpatch.
During October, Buckeye police sell special edition pink uniform patches, coins and T-shirts to raise money for those fighting breast cancer. All proceeds from this fundraiser go to Bosom Buddies of Arizona to support breast cancer survivors, education and awareness.
Buckeye police officers are also showing their support for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing the pink patches on their uniforms all month long. BPD joins hundreds of public safety agencies around the world participating in the Pink Patch Project to raise awareness and funding for breast cancer research, treatment and care.
BPD also has a new T-shirt design featuring the iconic pink ribbon to show support for the cause.
