Buckeye police remove SRO at Verrado High after charges lodged

A Buckeye police officer has been placed on administrative leave after authorities said they learned he was arrested on charges related to domestic violence.
David Ellison had served as school resource officer at Verrado High School for more than 10 years, according to a release from the Buckeye Police Department.
“These allegations are troubling and do not align with our core values of integrity, safety, respect and compassion,” the release stated.

A Buckeye police officer has been placed on administrative leave after authorities said they learned he was arrested on charges related to domestic violence.
David Ellison had served as school resource officer at Verrado High School for more than 10 years, according to a release from the Buckeye Police Department.
“These allegations are troubling and do not align with our core values of integrity, safety, respect and compassion,” the release stated.
An investigation is being conducted by the Goodyear Police Department.
“At the same time, this matter is the subject of an internal investigation. Officer Ellison has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of these investigations, which is standard protocol,” Buckeye police stated.
The department has designated an officer to take over SRO duties at the school.
