Buckeye police receive $50K for DUI enforcement

Posted

The Buckeye Police Department was recently awarded a $50,000 grant to help combat impaired driving.

The money comes from the DUI Abatement Council in partnership with the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, according to a release.

The funding will be used for DUI enforcement by covering overtime for officers working task force operations, conducting saturation patrols and participating in additional assignments to keep roads safe during holidays and special events, according to a release from the  Buckeye Police Department.
