Buckeye authorities have arrested a suspect accused of hitting his girlfriend with his vehicle near Yuma and Rainbow roads, sending her to a hospital with severe injuries.
Just before 5:30 p.m. on May 26, police received reports of a woman who was bleeding and yelling for help in the street. Officers responded to the area and found neighbors assisting the victim who had suffered significant injuries, officials said.
She was taken to a hospital and remains under medical care.
During the investigation, detectives learned the victim and her boyfriend, identified as Adrian Cabrales, 42, were arguing outside their home when Cabrales got into his Jeep and hit the victim with the vehicle, police said.
Cabrales drove away before officers arrived.
Buckeye police arrested Cabrales June 13 in Avondale without incident. He was booked into jail on aggravated assault charges.
