The Buckeye Police Department arrested a man they believe is responsible for three arson cases.
Caleb Dorn, 24, was arrest in connection with setting fires in a neighborhood being built near Sun Valley Parkway and Canyon Springs Boulevard, according to Buckeye Police.
Dorn was charged with two counts of arson and two counts of tresspassing and burglary.
Officials confirmed no one was hurt.
"Around 1 a.m. yesterday morning, police received a report that a home being built on 266 Ave. near Morrow Dr. was on fire. A responding officer located the man who reported the fire on scene and determined no one was inside the home. The Buckeye Fire Department arrived to put out the flames. The home was significantly damaged. Investigators determined the fire was suspicious," Buckeye Police said in a statement.
After their investiagtion, officials were able to notice the fire was similar to one that occurred the day before.
A third home was later identified as also having been damaged by a fire.
Dorn was the original witness to report the fires but after inconsistent statements he was arrested in connection of the fires.
"Buckeye Police work together with our partners in the Buckeye Fire Department to keep our community safe. This important collaboration led to a swift arrest preventing further property damage and protecting the lives of nearby residents," the BPD said in a statement.
