Buckeye mayor declares August ‘General Aviation Appreciation Month’

Posted

Alliance for Aviation Across America commended Mayor Eric W. Orsborn of Buckeye, for proclaiming August “General Aviation Appreciation Month.”

In Arizona, general aviation airports support an economic impact of $3.3 billion annually, according to AAA.

“Mayor Orsborn’s proclamation helps highlight the economic benefits and valuable service that general aviation provides to Buckeye,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We sincerely thank the mayor and the city for recognizing this vital industry.”

The proclamation not only cites the economic impact of general aviation and local airports like the Buckeye Municipal Airport but also the importance of investing in this infrastructure to encourage enthusiasm in flying and grow the next generation of pilots and aviation professionals, as well as to encourage future growth through investments in sustainability.
