Buckeye artist commissioned for indoor mural at new Fry’s store

Mary Shindell was chosen for her art installation ‘Desert Feast’

A Buckeye artist soon will see her work inside her neighborhood Fry’s store.

The West Valley Arts, in partnership with Fry’s Food Stores, announced it commissioned Mary Shindell to create an indoor mural for Buckeye’s newest grocery store.

Cincinnati-based Kroger Family of Cos., the parent company of Fry’s, said it is committing to enhance the new story by involving local artists to celebrate the city’s unique identity. More than 35 artists submitted proposals for the mural in January 2020.
