Buc-ee's development adds to Goodyear's road work

A series of road improvement projects across Goodyear are moving forward as the city prepares for continued growth, including increased traffic expected from the opening of Arizona’s first Buc-ee’s travel center next summer.

Design work is nearing completion on improvements to southbound Bullard Avenue between Celebrate Life Way and Roosevelt Street, just south of Interstate 10. The project is intended to improve traffic flow ahead of Buc-ee’s anticipated summer 2026 opening nearby.

The Bullard Avenue project, with a total budget of about $6.6 million, will ultimately widen the roadway from two to three southbound lanes. The additional lane will eliminate the existing scalloped street configuration and help accommodate higher traffic volumes in the area. The project is currently in the design phase, with construction timing still to be determined.
