Drivers can expect delays and detours this weekend when westbound Interstate 10 is closed between State Route 143 and Interstate 17, state transportation officials said.
Work on a traffic shift as part of the Broadway Curve improvement project will require the shutdown from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, to 4 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The project also will close the southbound SR 143 ramp to westbound I-10.
In addition, the following ramps will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday:
The westbound I-10 on-ramps at Baseline and Broadway roads and 40th and 32nd streets.
The westbound US 60 on-ramp at Mill Avenue.
The southbound SR 143 on-ramp at University Drive.
As a westbound I-10 detour, ADOT officials recommend northbound SR 143 or eastbound US 60 to northbound Loop 101 to westbound Loop 202 to access westbound I-10 beyond the closure.
