Bringing back Old Town Peoria

After setback, revitalization effort moves forward

About five months ago, major developer Phoenix-based Vintage Partners withdrew from a plan to revitalize Old Town Peoria after a two-year partnership, forcing the city to go back to the drawing board in updating the downtown area.

City staff says revitalization is still a priority and is taking steps to continue the process, including consulting and placemaking costs of more than $1.3 million.

Deputy City Manager Katie Gregory said in the past five months staff has pursued a number development possibilities for Old Town Peoria.
