It is tragic that so many people have refused to get the COVID-19 vaccination because of misinformation. The politicians, their news’ sources and certain religious organizations betray the millions who place their faith in science.

Think of all the frontline health workers who have sacrificed themselves to try to save thousands of patients lives in the hospitals they serve. Now when the pandemic has slowed, giving these unselfish workers a chance to catch their breaths, the second wave of the mutant virus emerges primarily among those who “choose” not to be vaccinated.

And now that businesses have reopened, thanks to science and those of us who have made the choice to get the COVID-19 vaccine, we run the risk of another shut down.

How many hits can this country receive to our hospitals, schools and businesses? Where are our political, religious, media and educational leaders who need to stand up and speak fact over fiction?

Remember that implicit in the concept of freedom is responsibility.
