Breaking down the numbers of the renewable energy pursuit at Arizona Public Service

APS seeks to be clean and carbon-free by 2050

“Every day we’re working toward a more sustainable tomorrow for Arizona as part of our commitment to serve customers with 100% clean and carbon-free energy by 2050,” said Jacob Tetlow, Arizona Public Service executive vice president of operations, in a prepared statement earlier this month.

Earlier this month, marked National Solar Appreciation Day, but beyond the proclaimed day of observance, for APS officials, they say, it serves as a reminder of a special moment in time not too long ago.

Back in 2020, APS announced an audacious goal: By 2050, a total of 100% of its energy commodity will be delivered clean and carbon-free.
