Assistant to take over for retiring Lambert

Assistant Water Resource Management Director Michael Boule will promote to department director in coordination with the retirement of current director Lee Lambert on Nov. 27.

Boule has been with the city of Surprise for 14 years, serving the last two as assistant director of Water Resource Management. Boule started his career in the Water Services Department as an infrastructure analyst in 2008. He then joined the Public Works Department where he moved up the ranks from project manager to assistant director of operations.

Boule to be promoted in Surprise water department

Assistant Water Resource Management Director Michael Boule will promote to department director in coordination with the retirement of current director Lee Lambert on Nov. 27.

Boule has been with the city of Surprise for 14 years, serving the last two as assistant director of Water Resource Management. Boule started his career in the Water Services Department as an infrastructure analyst in 2008. He then joined the Public Works Department where he moved up the ranks from project manager to assistant director of operations.

During his time in Surprise, he has been responsible for the management of capital improvement projects, numerous public-private partnerships and significant water planning efforts.

“Michael’s strengths in planning and project management are a critical asset to our water team, especially at this time of extreme drought in Arizona,” City Manager Bob Wingenroth said. “He also understands the importance of uniting colleagues, residents and the business community as we work to reach our goals, which will continue to serve the city well as he takes on this new role.”

Boule has a bachelor of science in housing and urban development with a concentration in construction management from Arizona State University and a masters of business administration from Ottawa University – Arizona. He also holds a number of licenses and certifications.
