Local clothing shop has sought stores in an effort to break from retail pack

Bright yellow, copper, blue and red — the colors in the flag of Arizona are said to symbolize the Spanish conquistadors who explored the area and pay homage to those who contributed to copper production in the state.

At Chandler-based clothing store chain State Forty Eight, its representatives hope to pay tribute to Arizona’s history and celebrate every day life in the Grand Canyon State.

The company, named after Arizona being the 48th state admitted into the union, is not just a clothing store. Instead, it’s about building a relationship with the community, said Mike Spangenberg, CEO and co-founder of State Forty Eight.
