A bobcat and her kitten have been released into the wild after they were found last month in the attic and bathroom of a Scottsdale home.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department announced Monday that the pair are back in nature after being discovered by the homeowners.

On June 8, the homeowners heard noises in the attic where they found a baby bobcat, according to a release. Recent damage to the roof “allowed mom bobcat access and apparently she liked the spot,” ASGFD officials said.

The kitten was captured but not the mother. The Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center took in the kitten.

“Later in the day, however, the homeowner(s) got another surprise when they found the bobcat mom - in their bathroom,” the release stated.

Game and Fish Department officers accompanied by Kim Carr of Southwest Wildlife went to the house.

“The trio cautiously entered the bathroom and were met with a pair of golden eyes peering out of the shower,” the release stated.

“Well aware of the dangers that accompany approaching a wild bobcat attempting to locate her kitten, they were able to work together to carefully capture the mom bobcat.”

No other kittens were found, and the mom and her baby eventually went back to their proper home.
