The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approved a pair of agreements on its consent agenda Sept. 30 for services with the Department of Correctional Health Services.
The first agreement is with Hospice of the Valley.
The agreement, signed on Sept. 9, establishes a formal partnership allowing Department of Correctional Health Services medical providers to consult by phone with Hospice of the Valley physicians regarding patients in need of palliative care, which is specialized medical care that focuses on providing relief from pain and symptoms of a serious illness or the side effects from treatments.
