Board member responds to BNSF-PORA question

Posted

OPINION — Reply to Mike Colvin’s opinion (What does BNSF have to do with Sun City West property owners?) in the Dec. 17 Independent: Yes, the Sun City West Property Owners and Residents Association is actively opposing the location of the proposed BNSF railroad intermodal project.

However, this does not mean PORA has abandoned advocating for Sun City West through all its core functions in government relations, roads, traffic and safety, transit and water issues. PORA is quite capable of addressing multiple challenges at any time.

But make no mistake, the BNSF project is a big deal and will affect our residents in several ways for years to come.

For more information on the subject, please feel free to contact the PORA office at editor@porascw.org or 623-584-4288 to schedule an appointment to review this project in detail with a PORA representative.

Residents also may visit the BNSF project to review information on their own by visiting the website and selecting the link to the BNSF project at the top of the page.

Just remember PORA, as always, is “Looking Out for You.”
