During its formal meeting on Oct. 21, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors advanced several local irrigation water delivery districts and electrical districts across the county that are canceling their upcoming late-2026 and early-2027 elections after filling open board and trustee positions through direct appointments.
The governing bodies have approved the cancellation of scheduled ballots, moving straight to the appointment of leadership to fill expiring terms.
