Bland Albert Ballard, 84Bland Albert Ballard, 84, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at his home in East Mesa.Born in St. Louis, Mo., he served in World War II as a Navy fireman first class. He worked as an auto body and engine mechanic.Survivors include his wife, Edna; children, Margaret Shepherd, Victoria Simmons and Terryann Hussey; eight brothers and sisters; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Interment will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 7, at the National MemorialCemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.Paradise Sunset Chapel handled the arrangements.
