Cox Communications and the Greater Phoenix Economic Council will be among the honorees at the Black Chamber of Arizona award banquet later this month, according to a press release.

The banquet, which is expected to honor several corporate businesses for its "outstanding contributions to economic empowerment and community" development, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13 at the PERA Pavilion, 1 E. Continental Drive, Tempe.

"The event will feature celebrity emcee Angela Yee, keynote speaker Ron Busby, president and CEO of the U.S. Black Chamber, and special guest, Tempe Mayor Corey Woods," the press release stated. "Guests can look forward to an unforgettable celebration of leadership, innovation, and resilience in Arizona’s Black business community."

The gala will also feature seven "exceptional Black-owned employer" firms, who have made contributions to Arizona’s economy and culture, the press release stated.

“This year’s gala is a reflection of the power of public-private collaboration and the resilience of Arizona’s Black-owned businesses,” said Dr. Velma Trayham, president & CEO of the Black Chamber of Arizona. “The honorees and presenters exemplify leadership and innovation that contribute to a thriving and inclusive economy.
