Bill would pave way for journalist tribute

Don Bolles died doing the job he loved.

But he wasn’t a policeman or fireman. Instead, he was a local newspaper reporter who lost his life after a car bomb exploded as he went to start his 1970s Datsun at the Clarendon Hotel in Phoenix.

Now — almost 47 years later — Rep. Jennifer Longdon, D-Phoenix, is helping honor the slain journalist with a proposed bill that currently needs to be heard by the Arizona State Senate in the current legislative session.
