Arizona's political leaders react to Biden's withdrawal from presidential race

President Joe Biden has ended his re-election campaign for president.
In a letter Sunday, Biden cited his accomplishments but stated: “I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
Shortly after announcing his decsion, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to succeed him in the race against former President Donald Trump.

President Joe Biden has ended his re-election campaign for president.
In a letter Sunday, Biden cited his accomplishments but stated: “I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
Shortly after announcing his decsion, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to succeed him in the race against former President Donald Trump.
"Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year," he said in a post on X. "Democrats - it's time to come together and beat Trump."
Democratic U.S. Sen. candidate Ruben Gallego said Biden has "consistently worked to make lives better for hardworking Americans.
"He again put our country first today, as he has throughout his tenures as a public servant."
Kari Lake, Gallego's Republican opponent in the Arizona Senate race, stated on X: "If Joe Biden is not up for running for office, he’s not up for running the country."
