Other big stadiums across the country figure to build 24-7 coronavirus vaccination structures on site in the coming weeks, and they’ll be following the lead set by Glendale’s State Farm Stadium, which Vice President Kamala Harris called “an incredible model.”
She and President Joe Biden virtually toured the site, at 1 Cardinals Drive in Glendale, on Feb. 8 to better understand the model that’s been in place since January and, more importantly, what has made it work.
Since vaccines began being administered on Jan. 11 at the state’s first 24-7 inoculation site, healthcare providers there have administered more than 170,000 doses, at an average rate of over 350 per hour, and that includes those residents receiving both their first or second vaccination doses, Arizona Department of Health Services Director Dr. Cara Christ updated Monday from Glendale during a live virtual visit with the President and Vice President.
