Detectives are investigating a hit-and-run where a woman on a bicycle was struck and killed by two vehicles that left the scene, Phoenix police said.

Officers responded to  the collision near 91st  and Highland avenues about  11:15 p.m. March 28. They found a bicyclist, identified Sunday as 55-year-old Stephanie Fisher, on the road. She died at the scene, according to a release.

Later in the evening, police said they received information  a driver had called in and admitted to being involved in the collision. Officers found the  driver and detained her.

Detectives responded to take over the investigation. While processing the scene, detectives determined there was a second vehicle involved in the collision that also left the scene. That driver remains outstanding, police said.

The woman driving the first vehicle showed signs of impairment, and a search warrant was obtained to collect a blood sample. She was later released pending the outcome of the investigation.

"The investigation remains active as detectives process the evidence collected and work to locate the second vehicle. A charging decision will be made once the investigation is complete," the release stated.
