A man was attacked inside the parking lot of a Glendale mall Thursday morning, according to police.

At about 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 9, officers responded to the south side parking lot of Arrowhead Towne Center regarding an attempted robbery.

The male victim told police he was sitting in his car when the suspect rode up on a bicycle and asked for a cigarrete. The suspect then reached into the vehicle and attempted to rip the chain necklaces off of the man.

A struggle ensued and the victim received a small laceration. The suspect rode off after the failed attempt.

The Glendale Police Department checked the area with negative results. It is unknown if the suspect had a weapon.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his early 20’s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, and last seen wearing a yellow shirt, pants and a maroon beanie.
